Chicago, Illinois was always a place I wanted to visit and four years ago I went to visit my (now soon to be sister and brother in law) with my boyfriend (now fiancé) and it has become one of my favorite cities in the world. There are so many fabulous restaurants to try and I am very lucky to have had some amazing experiences in Chicago with my family and friends over the last few years. A family friend recently opened Tex-Mex Canteen in Chicago’s south loop called Lobo Rey and we were fortunate enough to try out some of their amazing food items when we were there in the fall. Lobo Rey has me, to this day, craving everything I tried
The flat top in the back of the restaurant is an awesome space for groups and a fun experience for all ages. We went as a group of adults one night and took my nephew another time and we all enjoyed ourselves. It helps that they have televisions in this area as well to keep the little people occupied when they start to get restless. I am planning to go back for my bachelorette/30th birthday in May and can’t wait to share the experience with my girls.
Having the chef cook in front of you is always fun and the amazing dishes they have created at Lobo Rey cannot go unnoticed. Some of my favorites were the Taco Al Pastor, Carne Asada Burrito, Fideo Secos, and ALL of their desserts, drool!
Overall Lobo Rey is just an outstanding restaurant with a cool vibe, wicked decor, unreal staff, and magnificent food that will have you craving it for months after you eat there.
