Seminyak/Kuta, Bali, Indonesia

If you are planning a trip to Bali I would highly recommend staying in Seminyak. We stayed at the Jayakarta Bali Beach Resort through Air BnB, which was much cheaper than booking through the hotel, and the location was perfect. We spent almost all of our days walking up and down the beach or through the markets and since Seminyak was smack in the middle of Kuta and Canggu we essentially walked everywhere. The only times we took a cab in those ten days were to go to Tanah Lot Temple and to get home from Old Man’s Beach Club in Canggu one night because the tide was too high and walking on the beach home was sketchy.

Although we had a small kitchen in our room we primarily ate out because who travels across the world to eat their own cooking, right? We had some really tasty meals and some that were not so great, but that’s bound to happen. The best thing about this part of our trip was that we had so many options for things to do and places to eat/hang out. I think overall we ate more spring rolls than two people should consume in ten days and because of the Bali Belly, we also ate a ton of soup. Good thing the Indonesian culture specializes in Soto, their traditionally spiced meat soups. I definitely got my fill of these.

A few other things we couldn’t get enough of while in the Seminyak/Kuta/Legian area were lattes and fancy AF cocktails. To be honest, my favorite days were walking on the beach from beach club to beach club sitting in the pools drinking sweet tasty cocktails in the 30C + weather. I’d go back for that for sure!

We tried to get to all of the beach clubs along that we could including Ku De Ta, Mrs. Sippy, Old Man’s, Potato Head, Finn’s, and Azul. We spent a fair amount of time at each one but my favorite was by far Potato Head. Reason being, it had an infinity pool so you could sit in the pool and see the ocean, absolutely loved this. It also had the best piña coladas! Reagan really enjoyed Mrs. Sippy as well. The drinks were good, the pool was salt water, and it had a diving board so it definitely kept things interesting.

Ku De Ta – great dumplings, view, and drinks

Potato Head – piña coladas!!!

Finn’s – awesome view, drinks, and pool

Like I said, these days were my favorite. Relaxing, drinking, walking on the beach, you really can’t go wrong. The people were really friendly there and the weather was great. I would definitely recommend spending some time at these establishments if you are making your way to Bali.
